Our story begins with painful losses. Like many retail investors, we fell in love with companies that seemed promising on the surface—great stories, exciting products, charismatic leadership. We'd buy shares, watch the price movements, celebrate the ups, and hold through the downs.

But something sinister was happening behind the scenes that we didn't fully understand: relentless share dilution. While we were focused on stock prices and quarterly earnings, companies were quietly issuing millions of new shares through ATM programs, warrant exercises, convertible bonds, and employee stock plans.

"Why is this stock not moving despite good news?" we'd wonder. The answer was often hiding in the footnotes of SEC filings—the share count had doubled or tripled over the past year. Our ownership percentage was being silently eroded, our votes diluted, our potential returns diminished.

The most frustrating part? This information was public, but practically invisible. Buried in dense 10-K forms, scattered across 8-K filings, mentioned in passing during earnings calls. Companies weren't hiding it—they just weren't making it easy to track.

After losing thousands of dollars to what we now call "stealth dilution," we decided to build the tools we wished we'd had. Stonk Tracker was born from our frustration, our losses, and our determination to never let dilution blindside us again.
